Audition process!

Cara and I (Lydia) had spent a while deciding on which sections of the text to use for audition pieces and in which ways we would want them to be delivered. However, the auditionees all brought so many new ideas to the text and the characters that the auditions didn't go according to our 'plan' at all.
We were really happy with the amount of people who turned up! especially considering the auditions took place during exam period.
Some characters were harder to cast than others, which we found out espcially after the re-calls. So many late, late nights sat up chatting with plentiful supplies of coffee and chocolate (and sometimes a bit of bob marley) were spent imagining the various cast combinations. we were extremely lucky that the auditions were so successful that we had the luxury of this choice! But, of course, this was upsetting too as we had to let so many amazing actors go! :(
I am, however, 100% happy with the final, decided cast. I feel like we have a great mix of personalities, talents (on and off stage!) and I have high hopes for the next month we spend together!
It is now just a week until we will all be in Bournemouth (my hometown) living, rehearsing, maybe even showering together ( I haven't yet told them there is only one bathroom!). Then, after two weeks, we train it up to the 'Burgh' with crates of ur set strapped to our backs.
All very exciting! Cannot believe it has come round already. It seems like only yesterday I was convincing Pascale to co-produce The Fever Chart on the phone (waaay back in December!). Sniff sniff! Go TEAM FEVER!
